Scholarships

Kentucky WMU seeks to assist women in higher education. Some scholarships are also available for young men. Scholarships are reviewed and approved by the WMU Scholarship Committee and KY WMU Executive Board. Recipients must be active members of churches affiliated with the Kentucky Baptist Convention or the General Association of Baptists in Kentucky. Scholarship amounts are subject to adjustment according to current income on investments. 

All applications are due February 15th. Scholarships are awarded for the following fall and spring semesters. Students must reapply each year for a particular scholarship.  Recipients are notified no later than April 30th for the upcoming school year.
Each applicant will need to submit an application and 3 references. The Snider-Creal Scholarship for Acteens requires 4 references.

Anniversary Scholarships (selected by school president)
Amount varies by school/interest income
Criteria:
*Full-Time student attending KY Baptist College (Georgetown,Cumberland, Campbellsville, Clear Creek, Boyce, Mid-Continent, Oneida)
*Sophomore or higher standing
*Native of KY
*Financial Need
*2.7 GPA
   
Amount varies according to interest rate ($400-$500)
Requirements for applicants:
*Kentucky student at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary preparing for a career in missions or WMU work.
*A graduate of an accredited college or university
*A minimum 2.7 GPA on a 4.0 scale 
*An active member of a Southern Baptist Church
*Application postmarked no later than February 15
*PLEASE INCLUDE A COPY OF YOUR MOST RECENT TRANSCRIPT.
 
Amount varies according to interest rate ($400-$700)
Requirements for applicants:
*A female student attending college or seminary in preparation for Christian service.
*A minimum 2.7 GPA on a 4.0 scale
*An active member of a Southern Baptist Church
*Application postmarked no later than February 15
*PLEASE INCLUDE A COPY OF YOUR MOST RECENT TRANSCRIPT.

Requirements for applicants: 
*A graduate of an accredited college or university
*A minimum 2.7 GPA on a 4.0 scale
*An active member of a Baptist Church
*Application postmarked no later than February 15
*PLEASE INCLUDE A COPY OF YOUR MOST RECENT TRANSCRIPT.
 
Acteens scholarships range from $400-$500.
Requirements for Applicants:
*Be a senior in high school with a minimum G.P.A. of 2.7
*Have completed at least one of the following: have completed a level of MissionsQuest; participated in an Acteens Activator Team; or served on the state or national Acteens panel
*Be an active member of a Kentucky Baptist Church
*Be active in an Acteens organization
*Mail a complete application by February 15 of her senior year.
 
Amount varies according to interest rate ($250-$500)
Requirements for applicants:
*Full-time student at a Kentucky Baptist college or any collegiate program of nursing 
*Unmarried
*A high school graduate or high school senior with minimum 2.7 GPA or College GPA minimum 2.7
*An active member of a Southern Baptist Church
*Application postmarked no later than February 15
*PLEASE INCLUDE A COPY OF YOUR MOST RECENT TRANSCRIPT                                                                       

 

Each applicant will need 3 copies of the reference form.  The Snider-Creal Scholarship for Acteens requires 4 copies of the reference form.

Scholarships from the Eliza Broadus Offering
for State Missions
 
Seminary Field Education
Approved student attending Southern Baptist Theological Seminary will receive a scholarship each semester while serving as an intern in the Kentucky WMU office. Contact Kentucky WMU for information on available field education opportunities.
 
Collegians on Mission
Facilitators of Collegians on Mission organizations at any college or university in Kentucky will receive a $100 scholarship for their second semester of service.
 
Simmons Bible College
