Kentucky WMU and KBC Baptist Men on Mission are cooperating with Baptist Global Response to supply Southern Baptist missionaries in three areas of Africa with "In Home Care Kits." The project runs from May 11-June 15 and focuses on collecting a listing of specific items in a 5-gallon bucket that will be used by those caring for people with AIDS. Churches are encouraged to collect the requested supplies, pack one or more buckets, then deliver the buckets to one of 16 drop-off locations betweeen June 16-19. Thus far, $1,067,197.47 has been given to the 2007-08 Eliza Broadus Offering, surpassing our goal for this year! Gifts towards the 2007-08 offering will be received through August 31, 2008. Overage from the 2007-08 offering will be used for evangelism, including Crossover 2009, a special evangelism effort during the week preceeding the Southern Baptist Convention meeting in Louisville. Exact projects and amounts will be determined after the total amount of the 2007-08 offering is known. 2008 State Missions materials are in production and will be mailed in early July. The 2008 theme is Celebrate God's Love and the suggested date for the Season of Prayer observance is September 7-14, 2008. The 2008-09 offering goal is $1,052,008.
