About the speaker
Dr. Elizabeth “Liz” Encinia is the Executive Director-Treasurer of Kentucky WMU. Liz is an equipper and strategist who helps missions leaders create an environment that encourages all people to have a holistic view of missions that compels them to live out their calling in fulfillment of the Great Commission. Liz earned a Bachelor of Communications & Marketing and a Masters of Christian Education from Dallas Baptist University, and a Doctorate of Strategic Leadership from Regent University.
Liz has a combined 17+ years serving in youth ministry, communications & web, graphic design, worship team, women’s ministry, teen-girls ministry, and lay leader training. Using her skills in visual communications, she assisted in launching three church plants in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. Liz has also served as officer with the Hispanic Education Initiative and on the Young Latino Leadership Taskforce for the Hispanic Baptist Convention of Texas. Before coming to Kentucky, Liz served 10 years with WMU of Texas as their Missional Lifestyle Strategist for Preschool, Children, and Student Groups.
Liz is a grown-up Pastor's kid and a life-long "GA" with a love for discipleship and missions. Liz was born and raised in the small community of Sinton, just north of Corpus Christi, TX. She was born to Roman and Isabel Encinia, and has one brother, Jacob, who is married to Laura and they have 3 children: Jakob Isaac, Andrew Josiah , and Laurisa Faith. Liz’s brother serves as the Worship Leader at First Baptist Church, Sinton, TX.
Liz enjoys singing, sewing, finding a perfect cup of coffee, exploring the nearest art museum, perusing Pinterest for craft ideas, watching sports, and walking her dog.
