How to Start a Women on Mission Group:

• Begin with prayer: Make prayer a part of each step in starting and leading a Women on Mission group.
• Contact KentuckyWMU: Contact the KentuckyWMU Adults Missions Strategist to learn more about updates, resources, and leadership training for Women on Mission leaders and volunteers. Attend leadership development events hosted by KentuckyWMU.
  • Request Consultation
• Meet With Pastor & Discipleship Minister: Leaders should meet with the pastor and discipleship minister to discuss the purpose, structure, and goals of the Women on Mission group, so everyone is on the same page.

• Register WMU group: Select the link below to register your new WMU group with the state office.
  • Register WMU group
• Identify leaders: Identify a group leader and others willing to lead, consider enlisting women to help as group leaders. Provide leadership development through Kentucky WMU's leadership training events. 

• Order materials: Order your materials from national WMU. New groups receive a discount on materials when you sign up to "try a sample".

• Promote: Invite young women to attend through personal contacts, email, social media, and other communication channels at your church.
