​ABOUT THE MISSIONS CELEBRATION
The Annual Meeting and Missions Celebration is a challenging, two-day event designed to promote missions engagement and to celebrate missionaries in Kentucky and around the world. Uplifting worship, powerful teaching, and practical workshop sessions on a variety of topics, including missions action, evangelism, and missions discipleship will both encourage and equip you to live on mission for Jesus in your daily life. 

*This event is for ALL Kentucky Baptists who are passionate about missions: men and women, pastors and laypersons, teenagers and adults.  Whether you're new to missions or a seasoned WMU member, there is a place for you to grow in your missional obedience.  

ABOUT THE 2023 THEME: HOPE IN CHRIST
​This year's theme is based on our key scripture, Romans 12:12 (CSB), "Rejoice in hope; be patient in affliction; be persistent in prayer." 
Throughout the course of the weekend, we will explore how our hope in Christ drives us to be genuine in our love, patient in our sufferings, and persistent in our prayers.  We will see how the natural overflow of our joy manifests in praising the Lord and clinging to "what is good."

KEYNOTE SPEAKER

JULIE BUSLER
author, former IMB missionary, & mental health advocate

Julie Busler is currently serving as the Oklahoma President of WMU and is active in the women’s ministry at Immanuel Baptist Church in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Julie understands the pain of mental illness and has learned that trials not only humanize us but increase our capacity to be used by God. She loves to use her experiences alongside Scripture to discuss and teach how to thrive in spite of mental illness and that joy and sorrow can coexist. Julie and Ryan have been married 16 years, have 4 children, and have served overseas in Canada, Mexico, Germany, and Turkey. 

Her book, Joyful Sorrow: Breaking Through the Darkness of Mental Illness, is available where books are sold online.
