![]() Over the years, WMU has created awareness for critical issues that impact our churches. In a world with sin, we can not ignore that the enemy finds any and all ways to sneak into our congregations. Today, we are encouraging WMUers to sound the alarm and encourage their churches to prepare themselves against Sexual Abuse. In partnership with the Kentucky Baptist Convention, Kentucky WMU commits to pray and encourage our missions leaders to take all pro-active measures to protect their church members. Under the leadership of our very own President, Linda Cooper, KBC's Sex Abuse Task Force worked together to develop a training resource and the Church Prepared campaign to encourage churches towards prevention, response and care training. Linda considers this training to be "vital to our churches and to WMU leaders who work with children. " MinistrySafe will provide a 4-hour training (free) for church staff and lay leaders regarding sexual abuse prevention, response, and care. Training will cover child sexual abuse in Christian environments, understanding offender behaviors and the grooming process, appropriate prevention and responding to allegations, as well as understanding a trauma-informed response and care for survivors. Training Dates & Locations 9:30AM - 2:30PM | Lunch & Training Materials Provided October 3 - Lone Oak, Paducah October 4 - Living Hope, Bowling Green October 5 - Buck Run, Frankfort October 6 - Fairview, Ashland We are asking you to do TWO things... 1) Sign-up to commit to pray and create awareness in your church 2) Encourage your church and your missions group leaders to attend a training
