KENTUCKY CHANGERS ADULT TEAM MEMBERS
We need adult team members (formerly referred to as “volunteers”) on all the week-long summer projects. If you are 21 years-old or older, and have skills in construction, we need your help! By giving just one week of your summer, you can make a difference in the lives of students and homeowners in Kentucky.
What roles are available for adult team members to fill?
Crew Chief
Crew Chief – A crew chief is an adult team member who brings construction skills and experience to a Kentucky Changers project. A crew chief commits to serve for a week as the individual in charge at a job site. This person also serves as a Christian mentor for the students on their crew. Each crew chief will supervise a team of 10-12 participants. The crew chief serves under the supervision of the Construction Coordinator.
Assistant Crew Chief
Assistant Crew Chief – An assistant crew chief is an adult team member who brings construction skills and experience and works alongside a crew chief. The assistant also provides leadership at the job site and commits to serving for a week as a mentor to the students on their crew. Assistant crew chiefs need to have the skills to take over and run the job site if the need arises. The assistant crew chief serves under the supervision of the crew chief and Construction Coordinator.
Runner
Runner – A runner is on call throughout the day, assisting 3-5 job sites with pick-up and delivery of materials, supplies, and tools. A truck is required in order to fill this role. The runner serves under the supervision of the Construction Coordinator.
Kitchen Help
Kitchen Help – Kitchen helpers commit to serve for a week in the kitchen helping to prepare and serve breakfast and dinner each day. They are also responsible for keeping the kitchen clean and safe. Kitchen helpers serve under the supervision of the Kitchen Coordinator.
Assistant Nurse
Assistant Nurse – An assistant nurse works with the Head Nurse by providing first aid and medical assistance to project participants and project team members in the case of injuries at the job site or at the host school location. An assistant nurse will also help train student crew members who serve their crew in the medic role. The assistant nurse serves under the supervision of the Head Nurse.
What is the cost to team members?
Each team member is asked to pay a mission project fee of $45. This fee offsets the cost of the following items:
*For team members who serve for multiple weeks, there will be an additional fee of $15 per extra week to offset the cost of the secondary insurance.
All team members filling the roles of crew chief, assistant crew chief, runners, nurse, and kitchen help will be assessed this mission project fee.

How do I apply to be a team member for Kentucky Changers?
All team members are required to complete the Kentucky Changers Team Member application process. This application process begins when an individual submits a completed Team Member Application. The deadline to submit a Team Member Application is April 1. After the application is received, the applicant will receive an email with a link to our Sexual Abuse Prevention Training. This training is provided online through our partnership with Protect My Ministry. Upon successful completion of this training, the applicant will then receive an email with a link where they will fill out their Background Consent Form. Once the background check is completed and the applicant is approved, an email will be sent to the applicant with confirmation of their addition to their chosen Project Team. This email will contain additional information about the upcoming summer project.
How do I submit my application?
You may submit your Team Member Application in one of three ways. The application deadline is April 1.
