WELCOME KITS
As refugees come to the United States they are given a limited amount of resources to help them settle into their new life. While food stamps can help with some food options, refugees need your help to set up house. We are encouraging Kentucky Baptists to be good hosts and gather Welcome baskets for individuals and families resettling to our area. Below you will find basket options with coordinating items. Please consider using a laundry basket as your "basket" for each kit.

Louisville - John Barnett, from KBC, is happy to connect people/churches with local opportunities, which would include partnerships we are doing with LRBA, multiple local churches, as well as, Refuge Int’l or Refuge Louisville.
Refuge International Louisville
Bowling Green - Go directly through Refuge BG, Daniel and Alice Tarnagda.
Refuge Bowling Green
Owensboro - Connect with Danny Gray and Refuge Owensboro. Danny is not the Director, but he is a main contact through Bellevue Baptist church. Danny’s email is dgray@conpaper.com.
Lexington - *This ministry is just pulling together and might not be ready to receive help* Michael Meredith and Nestor Gomez are planting a church and they are preparing to welcome an Afghan family.
However, at this location, copy John Barnette on any emails, john.barnett@kybaptist.org, because he is helping this ministry to get started. They would not be an organization that would be ready to take cards, but that they would be the front line church contact for building pathways.
